If you’re a community organisation that is or wants to support your community members to get online and access the benefits of digital – then joining the network will help you do exactly that. It is free to join and offers a range of free services, such as: 

  • Access to the National Databank
  • Free training and resources
  • Networking opportunities
  • Access to an online learning platform, Learn My Way.

The National Databank is giving free mobile data to people who can’t afford their internet connection. By signing up to the network, you will be eligible to join and start giving out data vouchers.

Support 4 Sight and partners would like to invite you to another of their award winning Zoom sessions showcasing the very best in Assistive Technology for people with sight loss

Sm@rt Technology’s systems of beacons and sensors use Bluetooth technology to enhance the lives of people with sight loss by giving them audible commands relating to their surroundings via a variety of sensors incorporated into the systems.

They can be alerted to objects that may pose a hazard and can be told what the object is so they are aware of the hazard. Also by using the Sm@rtVi app links to all kinds of technology can be achieved.

The session will go through several of their advanced technologies, including.

• Smart Beacons

• Smart Toilet Beacon

• SmartCross Traffic light system

• SmartBus

• SmartApp VI

Smart Technology has many patents and designs continually improving the way a visually impaired person may experience their environment.

Food for Thought starts 7th September 2022

Do you want to reduce the food you throw away and save money in the kitchen?

Do you want to reduce the food you throw away and save money in the kitchen?

If so, join this friendly four-week series of online discussions – Food for Thought! The sessions will start on Wednesday 7 September and run until 28 September, each lasting an hour from 7:30pm until 8:30pm.

Discussions will run through the various steps you can take at home to help you throw away less food. During the month, participants will have the opportunity to interact and share their experiences to keep the conversation going outside of sessions.

The group is open to all, whether you don’t know anything about making the most of your food or consider yourself an expert.
