UCAN Home Solutions provides domestic support for residents that enables them to continue to live independently in their own homes. This is a fee paying service.
Help available includes:
- Cleaning in the home
- Shopping
- Collection of prescriptions
- Laundry
- Change of bedding
- Pet care
- Putting away shopping/food deliveries,
- Gardening and handyman tasks such as installing smoke alarms, locks, home security devices and small repairs.
There are no contracts, but a minimum obligation is one hour per week and number of hours can be reviewed and adjusted as needs change. For example you may have one job that needs to be done once a month, or perhaps seasonally like changing the curtains or cleaning the blinds. We can add an extra hour on when those jobs need to be done.
How does it work?
We conduct an initial home visit to assess and agree works to be undertaken. We then arrange for a team member to attend on the agreed date and time each week to undertake the tasks.
A log book is kept at the property which is signed off every week detailing tasks completed during the visit.
We endeavour to provide the same staff member each week but on occasion this may not be possible. Our staff have been referenced and passed background checks, and are dedicated to helping Uttlesford residents live a better quality of life.
What doesn’t Home Solutions provide?
Please note: Home Solutions does to provide personal care or adminster medicines. We cannot handle money (e.g. banking or collection of pension) and are unable to provide transport to appointments.
Pricing
The basic charge of domestic work is £25.00 per hour. Specialist work such as deep cleans or clearing of clutter are priced on application and we regret we are unable to deal with hoarding as this is a comlex issue outside of the scope of our work.
