Over the last 7 years Uttlesford Community Action Network (previously known as CVSU) has been on an exciting journey of growth and development, almost
quadrupling income and significantly reshaping services to reflect changing needs in Uttlesford’s communities and the local voluntary and community sector.
As well as our continued support to build capacity in local voluntary and community sector organisations, UCAN has become a recognised local expert in asset-based
community development. Through relationships with public sector commissioners (including Uttlesford District Council, Essex County Council and West Essex Clinical
Commissioning Group) and a range of charitable funders, we have established a substantial and growing portfolio of projects for the benefit of local communities and the local voluntary sector.
Due to our continued growth, we now need additional administrative support. The role will be based at our Dunmow office, but you may occasionally be asked to travel to Saffron Walden.
The Role
Office Administrator (Dunmow) 30 hours per week (normally worked over 4 days)
Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will undertake a range of administrative tasks in support of the Senior Management Team.
This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience of working in the voluntary sector. You will not need knowledge of working in a charity, but must have key skills in English and Mathematics, and be confident and competent in the use of IT systems. We use Google Workspace, Microsoft Office and our own bespoke case management systems, in which training will be provided. An understanding of safeguarding, the needs for data protection and privacy would be useful.
You will work in an organised way, be able to prioritise tasks and meet deadlines. The role will include scheduling of resources, making appointments, taking and preparation of meeting notes and distribution of reports to staff and trustees.
